Personal

Thank you so much for raising funds for Hammer Out. We do appreciate all the effort that goes into training and the fundraising for these events. Please let us know what size you would like, and we will forward a Hammer Out running vest or T-Shirt for your use. We also have a selection of hoodies and running caps available in the merchandise section (and umbrella’s for your spectators!).

Also, any photos of the event (before or after!) along with event publicity can be put in the newsletter or on the web site.

Following a visit from the Inland Revenue, we would very much like you to use our sponsorship form. This is so that we can reclaim 28p for every £1 that is donated in sponsorship by a UK taxpayer. However the forms need to be filled in with all the essential information otherwise we cannot reclaim a penny. A copy is available here for you to download.

If you would prefer to use your own forms could you please ensure that the following criteria are met:

  • Event Name and Date
  • Event Participants Full Name and Full Address and Post Code
  • Sponsor’s full name
  • Home Address including house number and full post code
  • Work Address’s are not valid (where a sponsor form is being passed around a workplace some donors may be reluctant to give their full home address. In these circumstances the Inland Revenue are prepared to accept as a minimum; your name and initial, house number and postcode.)
  • Amount pledged
  • Amount collected
  • Gift Aid box filled in either Yes or No (we found ticks became straight lines so were unable to differentiate between whether to claim or not!)

The easiest way for us to receive your money is in the form of one cheque from the event participant plus the sponsorship form. This is because we have to show an audit trail and as you can imagine this is far easier with just one cheque! However if you prefer to send in multiple cheques and cash that is also perfectly acceptable as we really do appreciate any monies donated and recognise the time and effort involved in collecting in sponsorship money.

My Charity Page Limited is an advanced fundraising social networking web business. The website provides a unique combination of functionality for fundraisers, event organisers and charities.

Our website has been described as the charity equivalent of Facebook and will let people make donations online to their favourite charity. Using social networking features such as videos, blogs and forum discussions, we let people build a network of friends to raise awareness of a chosen charity. Our purpose is to provide a new fundraising tool for you to engaging new and old supporters.

JustGiving provides individual fundraisers with an easy way to raise serious money for charity quickly, tax-efficiently and online. They provide you with a personal fundraising web page, helping you to build your page in a few minutes. Then you e-mail your friends - they donate by credit or debit card, you watch the total grow and the money is sent straight to your chosen charity (us!). JustGiving will reclaim the tax for you through the Gift Aid scheme before they pass the donations to us.

JustGiving charges a small transaction fee on every donation made on this website. The fee is currently 5% of the gross donation, which is the donation plus any tax reclaimed under Gift Aid. This means that, when a donation is made by a UK taxpayer, the charity receives approximately £12 for every £10 donated, which makes JustGiving one of the most efficient methods of making a donation. When a donation is not eligible for tax reclaim, the 5% fee applies to the donation alone.
